The annual "Riga City Festival" is one of the largest and most visited city festivals in Riga. The festival takes place every year in August and lasts for three days.

All the major Riga art and cultural institutions take part in this festival organised by Riga City Council. It is also one of the major events for the guests of Riga and thus is also very important for all the travel agencies welcoming tourists in Riga. Every year around 180,000 citizens and visitors to Riga take part in the festival.

Solution

The Internet, including the festival’s official homepage and various social networks, is the main platform on which the information on all the various events, their schedule, availability, traffic restrictions and organisation of public transport is searched for and is also provided; it is also the place to find answers to all the questions people might be interested in.

Result

Our responsibility was the organisation of all this information, conducting interviews with participants, the organisation of contests and other activities that provide greater insight into the festival’s programme and organisation, as well as creating interest about specific projects of the festival. To ensure the flow of information we worked in close cooperation with the organisers of different events and Riga City Council.
